📖 The StoryOn this particular morning, I visited Kanyakumari Beach as part of my daily work. My profession is to provide professional photography services for tourists who visit Kanyakumari. As usual, I stood near the beach with my camera, hoping that someone would approach me for a photo session.By then, the sun had already begun to rise. I looked around, expecting that some visitors might want me to capture their memories. Instead, I noticed that almost everyone was taking photographs with their mobile phones. Families were happily posing together while one member of the family used a smartphone to capture the moment. I quietly stood there, watching them enjoy the beautiful sunrise.After a while, my attention shifted away from the tourists and towards the breathtaking view of the sea. The golden morning sunlight was spreading across the water, and the fishing boats resting on the shore added a peaceful charm to the scene. At that moment, I thought to myself, “Why not capture this beautiful view with my own camera?”I stepped a little farther back from where I was standing to find a better composition. Through the viewfinder of my camera, I carefully framed the sea, the boats, and the rising sun. As I looked through the lens, I noticed the sunlight shining directly into it. For a moment, I was concerned that the strong sunlight might affect or even damage my camera lens.However, something unexpected happened.Instead of ruining the photograph, the sunlight created a beautiful natural lens flare. The golden rays reflected across the sea, making the water glow with a rich golden color. The gentle waves shimmered under the morning light, and the sun’s rays spread beautifully across the frame, adding colorful flare effects that seemed to fall over the fishing boats. It was a scene that looked even more beautiful through the camera than I had imagined.After taking the photograph, I reviewed it on the camera’s display. It was exactly as I had hoped, perhaps even better. What began as a quiet morning waiting for customers turned into an unforgettable photographic moment. Sometimes, the most memorable photographs are created not because we planned them, but because we chose to appreciate the beauty that was already in front of us.

• 1. What did I see? As the peaceful morning began, the first rays of sunlight slowly illuminated the sleeping landscape. The beach, the sea, and everything around me gradually came to life under the warm golden light, creating a calm and unforgettable atmosphere.

• 2. What did I feel? I felt a deep sense of peace and renewal as the morning unfolded. In the beginning, everything around me was covered in darkness, and very little could be seen. Gradually, the first rays of the sun revealed the landscape, bringing every detail into view. With each passing moment, the sunlight grew brighter, transforming the sea, the shoreline, and everything around them. Soon, the entire coastline was glowing under the golden morning light. Watching this beautiful transformation gave me a unique feeling of hope, calmness, and inspiration that I will always remember.

• What was the challenge?
  My biggest challenge was to capture the exact moment when darkness slowly gave way to light. I wanted the photograph to tell the story of sunrise, not just show a bright morning scene. It was important for me to preserve the natural balance between the rising sun, the sea, and the shoreline. I wanted the sunlight to appear as it did through my own eyes, with the golden light gradually spreading from the horizon across the water and reaching the land. My goal was to create an image that would allow viewers to experience the same moment I witnessed, making them feel as if they were standing there beside me at sunrise.

• 4. What was the result? When I reviewed the photograph on my camera, I noticed something interesting. The image appeared slightly darker than what I had seen with my own eyes, yet it revealed details that I had not noticed while standing there. The camera captured subtle textures, reflections, and elements hidden within the shadows, making the scene feel even more dramatic and meaningful. The final photograph successfully preserved the atmosphere of the sunrise while revealing the quiet beauty that often goes unnoticed in a single glance. It became a reminder that a camera can sometimes reveal details beyond what our eyes immediately perceive.
